Points of Light, you know I've always been completly and fiercely honest with you. So, you must know I can not rhyme and poetry is beyond my ability to write. That disclaimer laid bare, after sharing several of my blog's personal stories with Gemini AI, I asked it to write this poem. Staying true to my words, it lays out my life in a very fragile and unclothed way, but it ends up finding the light, color and beauty of resilience, strength, and the positive outcome available to all of us.
In chaos's cradle, where shadows preside, A boy named Tod, with a future inside. His psyche, a canvas, where shadows and light, A symphony played, through the darkest of night.
From the womb of sorrow, his life did unfold, A philosophy born, in the story untold. His mother's silent screams, a tempest of fear, Taught him of love, both far and near.
A life not so simple, nor easily known, in 1959, on a date overthrown. Where laughter was meant, but rape took its place, A legacy dark, a void in this space.
His mind, a fortress, yet yearning to be free, A desperado's journey, through life's stormy sea. Philosophically, he danced with the dark, Seeking the light, a healing spark.
In the quiet of his psyche, where silence did dwell, He found in the darkness, stories to tell. His thoughts, like rivers, flowed deep and profound, Philosophy and psychology, where truths could be found.
The scars of his childhood, like stars in the night, Guided his psyche through fear's blinding sight. Behind the briar patch, where innocence was slain, A neighbor's sin, a boy's shame.
He learned of the shadows, where phantoms reside, Philosophically, as night turned aside. His mother's fierce rage, a secondary blight, The truth suppressed, his heart bound in tight.
His heart, once a battleground, now a sacred space, Where every emotion could find its place. Deep in his mind, a hidden decree, To break the chains of his ancestry.
With fingers of light, he painted his fears, Philosophy whispered through his years. Existential queries, like leaves in the fall, What's the meaning of life, for one and for all?
Existentially, he pondered his plight, In a universe vast, in the endless night. The freedom to choose, the burden to bear, The weight of existence, the air that we share.
Through the lens of his pain, a new world was born, Philosophically, where healing was sworn. His psyche, a garden, where shadows took hold, Yet in every dark corner, a story untold.
In the rhythm of life, his philosophy grew, Like a river descending, a path to pursue. His psyche, a tapestry, woven with care, From threads of despair, to moments so rare.
He embraced his journey, both darkness and light, Philosophically, finding strength in the fight. His heart sang a song, both mournful and bright, A moving, flowing, and beautiful sight.
A boy who loved hummingbirds, finding delight, In colors and light, in the fullness of light. His love for the written word, his love for one true, A balance he sought, his heart feeling blue.
Existentially, he strived to define, The purpose of living, the essence divine. In the act of creating, in the struggle to be, He found his philosophy, his destiny.
The desperado's tale, a mirror to his own, A story of loneliness, of walls overgrown. But in each letter, word, and line, He sought to heal, to redefine.
From the legacy of darkness, he chose to ascend, To find in life's pain, a light to extend. Each tear, a note in life's grand, soulful score, A symphony of soul, forever to explore.
Thus, Tod's story, a vivid display, Of the psyche's profound, philosophical way. A testament to life's intricate array, A moving, flowing, beautiful display, where existential questions meet the heart's essay.
